The annual Rowland Unified School District Instrumental Music Festival will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rowland High School gymnasium. All band and string students will perform at this spectacular event which features the talents of instrumental students from all levels of the school district including our Mariachi groups, Honor Orchestra and High School Jazz Bands.
We invite all friends and family to attend this concert in support of the Rowland Unified School District Instrumental Music Program. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door that evening. A $15.00 family ticket may be used to admit up to five members of a student’s immediate family, including siblings under the age of 18. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5.00 each. All funds raised at this event directly support the production of the concert as well as the individual music programs at each school.
Rehearsing for such a wondrous event is necessary. Therefore, a pre-concert rehearsal schedule has been included below for your convenience. Please review the schedule to determine your child’s rehearsal times. This concert includes everyone performing the patriotic piece, The Washington March. In addition to your student’s individual section rehearsal, we need all students to attend a Grand Finale practice from 12:00 – 12:30 pm, in Rowland High School gym on Saturday, March 8th, 2014. Your child’s seating for the concert is placed at this practice.
Students who have multiple rehearsals may arrive in time for their first rehearsal and remain in the gym until their final rehearsal is completed. Parents are asked to pick their students up promptly at the end of their rehearsal time so that we may prepare for the evening event. The RIM Club will have snacks and drinks available for purchase throughout the day.
This concert is the culmination of hard work by teachers, students, and administrators of all schools within the Rowland Unified School District. Please join us for a spectacular music-filled evening. Your support is genuinely appreciated.
Musically yours,
The RUSD Music Teachers and Band Directors
